Testing equipment for engine parts and other components
Testing equipment for engine parts and other components
In the automotive industry, as well as in the field of aeronautical engineering, for example, temperature-controlled liquids are drawn through components for test purposes. This is done to test the temperature behaviour and serviceability of engine components, control units and brake systems, for example. Typically, the test temperatures are at -40 °C and +80 °C, or in between.
Both the manufacturers of these components and the service providers for corresponding tests alike use deep-freeze systems or temperature control systems (combined cooling and heating) from L&R. Whether a central system generates the required cooling, or smaller, decentralised systems are used instead in each test room, is decided according to the requirements profile.
One of the challenges here is that it is not conventional cooling media that are specifically tempered, but rather operating media, such as brake fluid, hydraulic oil or engine oil with correspondingly high viscosity. L&R has significant experience in this field.
